Kalõ - FAQ's

Kalo FAQ

Is kalō safe?
Yes. kalō has been proven to be totally safe, as confirmed by extensive safety studies. As with every natural based product, a test patch should be used to determine whether an allergic reaction would develop. In case of a reaction discontinue use and wash the area with soap and water. kalō should not be used after chemical depilation.

Spray vs. Lotion: which one is better?
Both products are equally as effective. The spray is best suited for large body areas such as the back or legs, while the lotion is better for the face, ears, and bikini line. The lotion has more soothing properties and many people find it easier to apply.

Can kalō be used anywhere on the body?
kalō can be used on any unwanted body hair, both for men and women. Do not use kalō internally.

How does kalō work?
Waxing, sugaring, or tweezing removes hair by the root, leaving micro-openings in the skin. When massaged into these areas on the skin, kalō penetrates the open follicles and its active ingredients interfere with the formation of new hair. Sulphur is one of the key building blocks for healthy hair growth, and kalō has natural sulphur reducers that prevent the hair from regenerating.

Why does the product work so well?
The triple-compound action of the sulphur reducers is unique to kalo. The organic extracts weaken and inhibit the hair at the “anagen”, or “growth” stage. The moisturizing ingredients help soothe the skin, unlike depilatories.

What is a sulphur reducer?
A sulphur reducer prevents the formation of necessary suphur linkages. Since sulphur is a necessary component of hair growth, by preventing the formation of sulphur, the hair is prevented from growing.

How long will it take to work?

As with many natural herbal products, kalō will take different lengths of time to be effective for different people. In general about 10% of the hair will be inhibited after each hair removal/kalō session.

Do results vary on different body areas?
Yes. When hair is thin and weak, such as facial hair on women, kalō is most effective. If the hair is medium or coarse in strength and thickness, kalō will take longer to work.

Will there be visible results after the first application?

Possibly, but most people see results after two or three hair removal sessions.

Why does the product work in select percentages?

At any given time, 10%-15% of our hair follicles are in the “anagen”, or “growth” phase. kalō has the greatest effect on hair follicles in the anagen phase.

Will kalō work with shaving?

It may retard some of the hair growth and weaken the hair when kalō is used regularly after shaving. In fact, prolonged use may actually prevent hair from growing back. However, kalō works best when the hair has been physically epilated through waxing, tweezing, etc.

Is kalō FDA approved?

No. kalō in not considered a food or drug and therefore does not require FDA approval.

Will kalō’s effects be permanent?

If kalō is used after physical hair removal, such as waxing or tweezing, the hair will not grow back. If kalō is used after shaving, the hair will grow back, but slower, finer, and weaker.

How long has kalo been on the market?

kalō was introduced in 1997. It was tested for about 5 years prior to its introduction.
